How to Map Form Data to Jira Custom Fields

Mapping form data directly to your Jira custom fields ensures that specific information—like a requester's email address—is accurately captured and properly organized within your Jira issues. This easy guide will show you how to set up field mapping in just a few steps.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Access Submit Actions

  • Log in to your workspace and select the form you want to edit.

  • Select Submit Actions from the top menu.

2. Configure the Issue Fields

  • Here, you can customize the fields for the issue that will be created upon form submission.

  • In this section, you can see the specific fields you can update on the issue.

  • For this example, we’ll map the data from the form's email input directly to the 'Email' custom field on the Jira issue.

3. Publish and Test

  • Now, we'll publish the form to save the changes and see it in action.

  • Open your live form, fill in some sample info, and submit the form.

4. Review the Results

  • Go to the Jira project connected to your Service Desk!

  • Open the issue that was just generated.
