How to Configure Hipporello Notification Preferences in Jira

Notification Preferences

Hipporello Service Desk lets each team member configure their own email notification preferences. With these settings, you can decide which requests you want to be notified about — and on which projects — so you only receive the emails that are relevant to you.

Where to Find Notification Preferences

You can access the Notification Preferences dialog from the Hipporello Admin panel:

Enabling Notifications

At the top of the Notification Preferences dialog, you will see a toggle switch:

Notify me when a request is created and/or when it receives a reply.

Turn this toggle on to start receiving email notifications. When turned off, you will not receive any notification emails regardless of the other settings below.

Setting Your Notification Email

Below the toggle, enter the email address where you would like to receive notifications:

Where would you like to receive your notifications? (required)

All notification emails for incoming requests and replies will be sent to this address.

Notification Scope: All Projects vs. per Project

You can choose how broadly your notification preferences apply by selecting one of two modes:

All Projects

When you select All Projects, a single notification preference applies across every Jira project connected to Hipporello. You will see a dropdown with the following options:

Option

Description

All Jira issues

You will receive email notifications for every new request and every reply on all projects.

Only the issues I'm assigned

You will only receive notifications for requests that are specifically assigned to you across all projects.

This is the simplest way to manage your notifications if you want a consistent preference across your entire workspace.

per Project

When you select per Project, you can configure different notification preferences for each individual Jira project. A list of all connected projects will appear, and you can set a separate preference for each one.

For each project, click the dropdown to choose from:

Option

Description

All requests

You will receive notifications for every new request and reply on that specific project.

Only requests assigned to me

You will only receive notifications for requests assigned to you on that specific project.

No notifications

You will not receive any notifications from that specific project.

This gives you granular control — for example, you can receive all notifications on a high-priority support project while only getting assigned-request notifications on a less active project.

Automatic Notifications for Assigned and Replying Members

Even if a team member has not explicitly configured their notification preferences, they may still receive notification emails in certain situations:

  • When a member is assigned to an issue: If a member is added as an assignee to a Jira issue (either manually or through automation), they will start receiving notification emails for all subsequent replies and updates on that issue from that point forward.

  • When a member replies to a request: If a member writes a reply to a customer on an issue, they will automatically begin receiving notification emails for any future correspondence on that issue.

In both cases, the member does not receive notifications retroactively for past messages — only for new activity that occurs after the assignment or reply.

Tip: This behavior ensures that anyone who becomes actively involved in a request stays informed about its progress, even without manually adjusting their notification settings.

Saving Your Preferences

After configuring your settings, click the Save button to apply your notification preferences. You can return to this dialog at any time to update your preferences.

Click Cancel to discard any unsaved changes.
