How to Automatically Turn Forms into Jira Issues
Automating your workflow by turning form submissions directly into Jira issues helps your team save time and stay organized. In this guide, we will walk you through mapping form information to Jira issues using Submit Actions.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access Submit Actions
Log in to your dashboard and select the form you want to edit.
Navigate to and click on Submit Actions from the top menu.
2. Configure the Jira Issue
Select Work Type: Choose the specific work type (issue type) that will be generated in Jira after the form is submitted.
Customize Issue Name: Customize the issue name by using variables for dynamic content. You can map specific form fields directly to the issue name so they are easily identifiable.
Add a Description: Add a variable to the issue description to create a complete form summary, ensuring all submitted data is neatly organized within the ticket.
3. Publish and Test
Click Publish to save your changes and see the setup in action.
Open the live form, fill in some sample info, and submit the form to test it out.
4. Review in Jira
Go to the Jira project connected with your Service Desk.
Locate and open the newly created issue to review the mapped information.
