How to Map Form Data to Asana Custom Fields
Mapping form data directly to your Asana custom fields ensures that specific information—like a requester's email address—is captured accurately and structured perfectly within your tasks. In this guide, we'll walk you through how to set up field mapping.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Access Submit Actions
First, log in to your dashboard and select the form you want to edit.
Select Submit Actions from the top menu.
2. Configure the Custom Fields
Here, you can customize the fields for the task that will be created upon submission.
In this section, you can see the specific fields you are able to update on the task.
Click on 'Add' and select the field you want to populate from the list.
For this example, we’ll map the data from the form's email input directly to the 'Email' custom field on the Asana task.
3. Publish and Test
Now, we'll publish the form to save your setup and see it in action.
Open the live version, fill in some sample info, and submit the form.
4. Review the Result in Asana
Let’s go to the Asana project connected with your Service Desk.
Open the newly created task to review the information.
