Defining your custom domain for Service Desk for Asana
Custom Domain Setup for User Portal (Asana)
You can use a custom domain to present your User Portal with a branded URL instead of the default Hipporello address.
By default, your portal is hosted on: yourportalname.hipporello.net
To make your portal more recognizable and aligned with your brand, you can connect your own domain in two ways:
Subdomain (recommended) → support.yourcompany.com
Root domain → yourcompany.com
Setting Up Your Custom Domain
Go to admin.hipporello.com
Navigate to User Portal → Domain Configuration
Click + Add a Custom Domain
Enter your preferred domain
Click Add
After completing this step, Hipporello will generate the DNS details required for the connection.
DNS Configuration
The DNS setup depends on whether you are using a subdomain or your main domain.
Subdomain (Recommended)
Example: support.yourcompany.com
For subdomains, you need to create a CNAME record.
Copy the CNAME value provided by Hipporello
Open your DNS provider (such as Cloudflare, GoDaddy, or Namecheap)
Create a CNAME record for your subdomain
Paste the value and save
This is the most straightforward and widely used method.
Root Domain
Example: yourcompany.com
If you prefer to use your main domain, you will need to create an A record.
Copy the IP address provided by Hipporello
Go to your DNS provider
Create an A record for your root domain
Paste the IP address and save
Note: Root domains typically do not support CNAME records, which is why an A record is required.
Final Step
Once your DNS records are saved:
Your domain will begin pointing to Hipporello
Activation may take up to 24 hours, depending on DNS propagation
