Custom Domain Setup for User Portal (Linear)

You can configure a custom domain for your User Portal to replace the default Hipporello URL with a branded address that aligns with your organization.

By default, your portal is hosted on: yourportalname.hipporello.net

To use your own domain, you can choose between two options:

• Subdomain (recommended) → support.yourcompany.com

• Root domain → yourcompany.com

Setting Up Your Custom Domain

1. Go to admin.hipporello.com

2. Navigate to User Portal → Domain Configuration

3. Click + Add a Custom Domain

4. Enter your domain

5. Click Add

Once added, Hipporello will provide the DNS values required to complete the setup.

DNS Configuration

The DNS setup process depends on whether you are using a subdomain or your main domain.

Subdomain (Recommended)

Example: support.yourcompany.com

For subdomains, configure a CNAME record in your DNS provider.

1. Copy the CNAME value provided by Hipporello.

2. Open your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare, GoDaddy, Namecheap).

3. Create a CNAME record for your subdomain.

4. Paste the value and save.

This is the most straightforward and commonly used configuration.

Root Domain

Example: yourcompany.com

If you want to use your root domain, you will need to configure an A record.

1. Copy the IP address provided by Hipporello.

2. Go to your DNS provider.

3. Create an A record for your root domain.

4. Paste the IP address and save.

Note: Root domains typically do not support CNAME records, so an A record is required.

Final Step

After updating your DNS settings:

• Your domain will start resolving to your Hipporello User Portal.

• Full activation may take up to 24 hours, depending on DNS propagation.
